The terms for using 3D Universe.
Operator: Moneta Media Labs LLC. Effective 21 September 2026. By using 3D Universe (the “site”) you agree to these terms.
1. What the site is for
The site is a general educational and informational model of astronomy. We work from published sources and make our best effort to be accurate. We do not promise that any value, position, date, image or statement is correct, complete or current. Verify anything that matters with the primary source.
2. What it must not be relied on for
Do not rely on the site for navigation, for spacecraft, telescope or observatory operations, for planning that affects safety (including looking at the Sun or an eclipse), or for any legal, financial or professional decision.
3. Acceptable use
You may use the site for personal, classroom and editorial purposes, link to it, and share views and screenshots with credit to “3D Universe (3duniverse.ai)”. You may not copy, mirror or redistribute the site or its software; reverse-engineer it to build a competing product; harvest its content with automated tools; or interfere with its operation.
4. Ownership, and material that belongs to others
The site’s software, design, generated artwork and text are © 2026 Moneta Media Labs LLC, all rights reserved, except for material from third parties. Third-party data, images, models and software are listed on Sources & Attribution and remain under their own licences. Nothing in these terms restricts a right that one of those licences gives you. In particular, the subset of the HYG star database included in the site is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence, and works of the United States Government are in the public domain in the United States.
5. Other services
Optional features use services run by others (see Privacy). We do not control them and are not responsible for them.
6. Feedback
If you send us a correction or a suggestion, you allow us to use it without payment or obligation.
7. Availability
We may change, suspend or withdraw the site or any part of it at any time.
8. No warranty
To the fullest extent the law allows, the site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
9. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Moneta Media Labs LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from use of the site, and its total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us to use the site and 100 US dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limits; in those, they apply only as far as the law permits.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Rights you have under the consumer law of the place you live, which cannot be waived, are not affected.
11. Changes
When these terms change, the date at the top changes. Continuing to use the site means you accept the new terms.
